For those who want to climb on different dates or routes than our group departures, we offer private climbs. Private climbs are also for those who would like to keep the group size small to have a more intimate experience on the mountain. Climbers with children or special needs are required to book private climbs for increased individual attention from our guides.
We can organize private climbs on any route, for any length, on any dates, for any size group, subject to staff availability. We fill to capacity many months ahead of time during the high season, so reserve your dates as soon as possible.
During the low season (April, May and November), there is a high probability of rainy conditions. Therefore, only experienced backpackers should consider climbing in these months. Additionally, rains prevent vehicle access to the trailheads for Shira, Lemosho and Northern Circuit at this time.

You Are the Sum of the Company You Keep Ultimate Kilimanjaro, as an organization, is phenomenal. Despite unforeseen circumstances, including fires on the mountain that required our group to be rerouted, everything was handled with professionalism, flexibility, and genuine care. Our group of seven climbers was assigned three guides: Barak, Ellis, and Philbert. All three were incredible human beings who genuinely cared about our safety and were committed to seeing every one of us succeed. All seven climbers reached the summit, and everyone experienced minimal to no complications. That speaks volumes about the leadership, preparation, and guidance provided by the Ultimate Kilimanjaro team. My two biggest recommendations for future climbers: Show up prepared. Get into the best physical shape you can, and bring all the required gear. Listen to your guides. Trust their experience, follow their instructions, and respect their guidance. Do these two things, and you will significantly improve your chances of a successful climb. I did the Kilimanjaro trip, in early October via the tour operator "ULTIMATE KILLIMANJARO". one of the most technical guide/ operators of the region, Making the choice of no of days was a difficult one, first i thought off of 7 days with high point drop off (which is a choice available with other tour operator) which seemed to be fantastic idea but later on decided to walk through the rain forest - so ultimate it worked to be 8 days trip, While carrying out careful observations and quotations based on different operators - mainly the professional operator - ALTEZZA, The local operator - Gladys Adventure, The most technical -Ultimate Kilimanjaro , the 9 day itenary of day summit caught my eye - which i would say a great advantage from acclimatization from point of view and a warmer day summit rather than freezing cold summit during midnight start, Now the biggest challenge came when the actual decided was Lemosho - 9 day route but just before a week of the trip start - my operator informed that there is fire on Lemosho route and so on Ronghai route - so we were left with few choices- Machame route (decided by tour operator) and we proceeded as per decision. The Machame route appeared tough as per the perception I had in my mind - but i would compare the second day trip from Machame camp to Shira cave would be similar to 2nd last strech of EBC trip , moving up and down on stone route, For me and other trippers who had EBC experience was easy to digest the route, The scenery was very beautiful in Machame route and at no point we regretted the change of route rather than our group was enjoying the trip with pleasant talks on the way, Let me say that my past EBC trek definitely gave an advantage and mind map what to expect during a high altitude trip, i would highly recommend to go for EBC trek before attempting Kilimanjaro - any route -I would say. I would describe the Kilimanjaro trip as a combination of Mount Batur in Indonesia and EBC. The scree terrain is similar to Mount Batur during downhill, while the distance and elevation gain are comparable to EBC. The main exception is the final summit push, which involves about 4,000 feet of elevation gain. Therefore, prior EBC experience would definitely be an advantage. If you are doing Kalapathhar then i would say there is match on profile for summit day - both are steep and windy, so you derive mental toughness through it. The aim is pole -pole and the mental endurance is the key to success. Dream it - train for it - Conquer it. Consider a longer duration until you set a world record. The longer duration gives you a good acclimatization and muscle relaxation. I would also point out that if you are able to maintain a good appetite from Lava tower and onwards - success is on your side. -on the summit day don't rush - keep your breath calm (suppose 15 steps at time, then deep breath to fill your lings with oxygen). - do not go to high point drop off until you are staying in high altitude - practice box breathing at least 1 week before the trek - do warm up breathing exercises in morning before the start of the trek - always waek shocks in the tent if you are cold feet - carry some music for the summit day, it helps a lot. A very special mention has to go to Andrew Young, our lead guide. Andrew was outstanding throughout the entire climb. He was incredibly professional, calm, knowledgeable, and precise with every recommendation he gave us. He knew exactly when to push us, when to slow us down, and how to manage each person in the group individually. We always felt that we were in extremely capable hands. What impressed us most was the way Andrew handled every member of the group. He understood that everyone reacts differently to the altitude and the physical and mental challenges of Kilimanjaro, and he adapted perfectly to each of us. His experience, judgment, patience, and encouragement made an enormous difference. We reached the summit, and I genuinely believe we did it because of Andrew. One of the small touches that made a huge difference was receiving our nightly “teddy bear” — a hot-water bottle we placed in our tent to help keep us warm. After long days on the mountain, climbing into a cold tent and having that warm bottle waiting for us was an incredible comfort and something we looked forward to every evening. Each day when we returned to camp, we were greeted by Gaston, who would carefully brush the dust from our shoes, gaiters, pants, and backpacks. His cheerful personality and friendly smile were always a welcome sight after a long day on the trail. These men are beyond incredible. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes, breaking down our camps after we left, carrying everything up/down the mountain, and then setting everything back up at our next campsite before we arrived. They did so much of the work that made our journey possible, and they did it with smiles and incredible attitudes. They deserve so much recognition and appreciation. ❤️ AUGUST - OUR INCREDIBLE CHEF August… WOW. The food throughout the entire climb was amazing. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was something we looked forward to. I honestly couldn’t believe the meals he was able to prepare for us in the middle of the mountain. But August did something that I will never forget. After all 8 of us successfully reached the summit, August actually baked us a cake to celebrate! We had just accomplished something incredibly difficult and reached the summit of Kilimanjaro, and when we returned to camp, our chef had made us a cake to congratulate us. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture, and it perfectly captured the kind of people this team is. They didn’t just take care of our physical needs. They celebrated our accomplishments with us. OUR SAFARI — TONY Our experience didn’t end when we came down from the mountain. Tony, our safari guide, was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, personable, patient, and incredibly determined to make our safari something special. And he delivered! His knowledge of the animals and the landscape made the safari so much more than simply driving around looking for wildlife. He knew where to go, what to look for, and was constantly watching and listening for opportunities to give us the best possible experience. Alison G2026-09-03Ultimate Kilimanjaro delivered the ultimate Kilimanjaro experience We had a simply extraordinary experience with Ultimate Kilimanjaro. From inquiry through booking and implementation, their communication was clear and they delivered on every promise they made. We were six women and we felt safe and educated every step of the way. There were other organizations on the mountain we experienced as less respectful (of tourists and other guides/porters) and so the value and benefit we derived from our crew was clear. We utilized the nine-day Northern Circuit route and saw beautiful views on the least crowded route up Kilimanjaro. The team was respectful, generous, and thought of everything to make us comfortable including dusting off our pants and boots before we got in our tents. The price for our trip was perfectly reasonable for what we received in exchange including all meals, private transfers to and from the airport, hotel stays on either side of the trek, a private toilet on the trek and detailed briefings and concern for our safety at every step. I genuinely believe this company is best for friends, family, or solo adventurers as every element is considered and the organization is highly ethical - utilizing porters from the KPAP organization - and benefitting the local community.Posted on Tripadvisor

Based on our research, we selected Ultimate Kilimanjaro, and had rather high expectations. Now that we've completed the trip, I can without hesitation, say that our expectations were exceeded in every regard. The pre-trip communications and guidance were excellent. The guides were phenomenal... knowledgable, kind, and warm. There overriding goal was to get everyone to the summit safely, whilst having a lot of fun. The food was out of this world. I don't know how they do it! All the equipment was of top quality and in great condition. The porters were the unsung heroes... always going above and beyond to help the team. Steven B2026-09-03A First Class Operator!! My friend & I did a ton of research for our Kili trip and are so happy with Ultimate Kilimanjaro! Every aspect of the climb was outstanding - guides, porters, cooks, food and even the toilet setup! Based on our open schedule, Shawn recommended the 9 day northern circuit, which gave us a great tour of the mountain, helped with acclimatization, and allowed us to get to know our fellow climbers, guides and porters. All 9 in our group made the summit! Shawn even set my friend & I up on a two day safari after the climb to Tarangire and Ngorogoro Crater NP. We would highly recommend Ultimate Kilimanjaro to anyone wanting a reliable, professional and first class operator!!
